Hales (king)

Hales was the "King of the Triballi" (a Thracian tribe in southeastern Serbia[1]), who in 376/375 BC, with his army, crossed Mount Haemus and advanced as far as Abdera, nearly destroying the city until Chabrias, an Athenian general, negotiated peace between the Triballi and the king of Maronea, winning over the Triballi to the Athenian side.[2]
